22 selected projects
(15 Asian∙7 Korean projects)
Acknowledged for stable production funding and developing Asian films, Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) has announced this year’s selected 22 projects.
ACF selected 5 projects for Script Development Fund, 5 for Post-Production Fund, and 12 for Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund. It was very tough to make selection because the quality of this year’s submitted projects is higher than previous years.

5 projects were selected for Script Development Fund, supporting projects in planning and developing stage. Resulted from ACF’s constant effort to find new directors from Asian regions, the number of submissions from Nepal and Central Asia this year increased. The selected 5 projects will be funded 10,000,000 KRW for script development.

* Biennale College Cinema Project (Project completion funding done according to Venice Film Festival – Busan International Film Festival cooperation)
Post-Production Fund supports 1 project from Asia, 3 projects from Korea, and 1 project from Biennale College-Cinema, Venice Film Festival’s fostering initiative for micro-budget films. Of laureate projects from Asia, Honeygiver Among the Dogs from Bhutan is expected to raise the bar of Bhutanese mystery-thriller genre. Moreover, acknowledged as an actor in the independent film industry, director NAM Yeon Woo’s first feature-length film LOST TO SHAME and director CHO HyunHoon’s shapely structured story Jane, and director LIM Dae Hyung’s nouveau tragic fable Merry Christmas Mr. Mo were selected from Korea.
The 5 selected works will be supported with Digital Intermediate (DI), sound mixing, and Digital Cinema Package (DCP) from ACF partners; KOFIC, Studio 2L, CJ Powercast, Wave Lab, Studio SH, Plusgain, KUMTLE, and the newly-joined Pluto Sound Group.

A War of Memories
Celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, AND fund has been devoting itself to empowering Asian documentary film industry by annually supporting diverse subjects and new genres of documentary projects. In recent AND finalists, In Exile (2015 BNK Busan Bank Fund), An Insignificant Man (2014 Dongseo Asia Fund), and The Cinema Travellers (2014 BNK Busan Bank Fund) were invited to the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.
This year’s AND presents a wide array of subjects and original themes with its selected projects produced by veteran and new director.
Aiming to invigorate documentary production, AND offers each documentary project monetary support from Dongseo University, Youngsan University, BIFF Mecenat, and Busan Bank from 5,000,000KRW to 20,000,000KRW per project.
