ACF - Asian Cinema Fund

BIFF Academy of Busan International Film Festival and 37thDegree, the global moving images production company, together present the Short Film Project Contest to support creative filmmaking activities by Asian filmmakers in the new era deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility

-  Fiction or documentary short film projects of all genres around 15 minutes in duration.

-  The project must be about the ‘New Normal’.

-  The director must be of Asian nationality, living and working in Asia​

-  The director has directed at least one short film.   

Deadline    September 7, 2020 (5:00 pm, GMT+9)

Mandatory Project Information

-  Project Information (title, estimated running time, genre, budget, production plan, etc.)

-  Logline (300 characters including spaces), Synopsis (1200 characters including spaces), Director’s Statement (1200 characters including spaces), Director’s Profile (600 characters including spaces)

-  Fiction: Script

-  Documentary: Project Proposal​

-  Online Link of Director’s Previous Work

Benefits for Selected Projects    Production support fund of maximum 10,000,000 KRW per project

Obligations of Selected Projects

       -  The final recipient must submit the completed film by the deadline determined in an Agreement that will be negotiated at the time of final selection.

       -  The completed film and its promotional materials must include the logos of Busan International Film Festival and 37thDegree.​

       -  The completed film must be world premiered through BIFF Academy’s official platform in the first half year of 2021.

       -  Online Interview: Mid October (notified individually via e-mail)​

       -  Final Selection Announcement: Mid October
