Director's Profile Prior to filming “Fujian Blue”, his first feature film, Shou Ming Weng has made numerous short films, which have been selected in many international film festival, among those “Young Age” (2004) was selected for the 5th Forum of Asian Cinema in Singapore and “Jasmine Bay” (2003) won a prize at Beijing Digital Video Forum and 9th IFVA Asian New Force in Hong-Kong.
Illegal emigration is a custom in some regions of southeast China. A group of young men earn money by blackmailing middle-aged married women who have affairs with other men as their husbands are away. These young men spend big money at nightclubs and they even try to overtake real gangsters. The protagonist falls finally in a dilemma when he contemplates whether or not to blackmail his own mother.
