Director's Profile Nam Yeonwoo won the Best Actor Award at the 1st Wildflower Film Awards, playing the role of Seonggong in the feature film Fatal (2012), which was invited to the Busan International Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival. He directed and starred as Seolwon in the short film Intoxicated Heart (2014), which was was invited to Mise-en-scene’s Short Film Festival and Seoul Independent Film Festival. Lost to Shame (2016) is his directorial feature debut and he is currently involved in numerous projects at ‘Story秀Cut’.
Synopsis
A struggling actor Oh Song-joon is cast in the leading role in Dark Life, a world-famous play dealing the issues of sexual minorities. His genuine devoted dedication to the role brings him a meteoric rise to fame. Yet, he soon realizes the double edge sword behind this honor.
Director's Note
Is one’s social reflection one’s true self? The film portrays a character who lives on hiding his true feelings, or not even realizing them. How does a person’s trajectory full of contradictions reflect back to our own lives?
