- Synopsis
-
Due to the bankruptcy of Byung-kie (46), Okju (18) and Dongju (10) move into the house of Yeongmuk (78), whom Okju and Dongju had lost contact for years. Unlike Dongju, who acclimates to the new surrounding quickly, Okju feels uncomfortable in his house, even more so after aunt Mijeong (37), who is going through a divorce from her husband, moves into Yeongmuk′s house. As time passes by, however, Okju gradually opens up and feels the connections with the family members.
- Director's Note
-
On the way back home after being in the study hall at school, one of my friends started to tell us a story about her family. Other friends joined the conversation, sharing problems they each had within their own families. While hearing their stories, I felt a sense of relief, which assured me that it wasn’t just my family that had issues. Although I felt relieved, I failed to tell my own story. I’m dedicating this film, ten years later, as the response to the unanswered question on that evening.
