Asian Cinema Fund 2023 Opens Submissions The Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) is now accepting
submissions.

Network of Documentary (AND) Fund: 4/20 - 5/15 ACF,
which aims to discover and support talented filmmakers in Korea and Asia, calls
for applications for the Script Development Fund from March 20 (Mon) to April
10 (Mon) while the application period for the Post-Production Fund will be open
from March 20 (Mon) to April 20 (Thurs), and the Asian Network of Documentary
(AND) Fund from April 20 (Thurs) to May 15 (Mon).
ACF has
contributed to the vitalization and stabilization of the production environment
of feature films and documentaries throughout Korea and Asia through first-hand
support. It has taken on a pivotal role in securing the diversity of films and
its entry into the global market. In
particular, through collaborations with various support programs of ACFM, the
selections are provided with networking opportunities in the industry and
support in the production and distribution process.
This year’s selections for the Script
Development Fund will be invited to the Asian Project Market (APM) and provided
investment and co-production opportunities, while also being a nominee for the
APM Awards. The representatives
of AND Fund selections will also be officially invited to the ACFM 2023
and provided the chance to interact and establish networks with industry.
Each year, ACF selections have shown much prominence
in prestigious film festivals around the world. Rehana (2021), an official
selection of BIFF 2021 and the Script Development Fund recipient in 2017,
received much attention with the invitation to the Un Certain Regard section of
the Cannes Film Festival in 2021, while Memoryland
(2021), 2016 ACF Script Development Fund selection, was invited to the 72nd
Berlin International Film
Festival’s forum.
In addition,
documentary films that were completed with the support of the AND Fund have
also continued to celebrate their global success. The 2019 AND Fund selection, Dear Mother, I Meant to Write about Death
(2022), was invited to the 35th International Documentary Film Festival
Amsterdam, while 2018 AND Fund selection, Blue
Island (2022), was an official selection at the 2022 International Film
Festival Rotterdam and awarded the Special Jury Prize in the Asian Vision
Competition section and the Audience Award at the 2022 Taiwan International
Documentary Film Festival.
ACF 2023 will be accepting applications for three categories; Script Development Fund, Post-Production Fund, and Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund. The selected projects will receive post-production service or cash grants. The Script Development Fund is limited to Asian films and must be the director’s first or second feature-length fiction film. ACF 2023 Post-Production Fund ● Submission Period: March 20 ~ April 20, 2023 (23:59 KST) ● How to Apply: Visit the online application portal and fill out the form in English ● Eligibility: Feature film project to complete editing by May 2023 by director of Asian nationality ● Benefits: - In-kind service for post-production (DI, final sound mixing, English subtitle spotting, DCP) in Korea (Travel arrangement included.) - World Premiere at the 28th Busan International Film Festival (Mandatory)
