Synopsis
Although thirty years have passed, those who participated in the movement still live on with the painful memory. However, it is not only pain. It is also a happy memory of witnessing the poignant scene. The camera calmly follows the people on how they came to participate in the historical event and how it affected their lives.
Director's Note
In 2010, the Gwangju Democracy Movement will have its 30th anniversary. Although a generation is passing by, the investigation of the truth of the resistance is still veiled. Along with the faded memory of the struggle, pride seems hard to find in Gwangju today. In the middle of this, the demolition of the former provincial office, which was the final resistance base, engenders controversy and puts the city in dilemma. In Gwangju, which was once a tight community, the film looks back on that particular day and questions the citizens of today.
