2026 Guidelines

SUBMISSION
DATES
18 May -30 June 2026, 23:59 (KST/GMT+9)
ELIGIBILITY
Feature-length fiction films or theatrical animation projects that meet all of the following criteria
Running time: 60 minutes or more.
Project Status: Currently in funding, pre-production, or production.
Contents: Original screenplays or adaptations of intellectual properties (e.g., novels, webtoons) are eligible. (Remakes of existing films or TV series are not accepted.)
Legal Status: Project must be free of any copyright or legal disputes.
Application Qualifications 1) Applicant
A Korean production company that has been delegated submission authority by the rights-holding production company (including co-production rights)
  • ※ The Korean production company must have finalized the international co-production agreement. Both individual business operators and corporations are eligible to apply.
2) Project
Project with more than 60% of the total production budget secured
Project with a signed international co-production agreement, where Korea participates as a majority or minority partner (If one of the co-producing countries is outside of Asia, Korea or an Asian country must participate as the majority production country.)
  • ※ Projects that have been previously selected for the support in the other categories from the Asian Cinema Fund 2026 are ineligible.
BENEFITS Number of Selections: Minimum of 2 projects
Total Grant Amount: USD 100,000 or KRW 140,000,000
Grant Amount per Project: Up to USD 50,000 or KRW 70,000,000
(Note: All grant amounts will be determined based on whichever is lower between the USD and KRW figures at the time of payment, applying the prevailing exchange rate. Taxes included.)
  • ※ Disbursement Policy: Final payment will be issued only upon the full satisfaction of all agreement terms and conditions.

  • ※ Please submit the application form and all additional documents as a single compressed (zip) file.
  • ※ When submitting, please use the following format for both the email subject and the file name: "ACF 2026 Co-Production Support Fund Submission – [Project Title]"
REQUIRED MATERIALS Application Form (Official Template): Includes basic project information, production budget plan, production schedule, consent to the collection and use of personal information, copyright/licensing confirmation, and a signed pledge to prevent sexual harassment and violence.

Co-production/Investment Agreement or Support Agreement: Any sensitive information must be redacted prior to submission
  • ※ The application form must be completed in Korean.
  • ※ All other required documents must be submitted in English. (However, for Korean projects, the script may be submitted in Korean.)
  • ※ Failure to use the designated application form or incomplete submission may result in disqualification.

  • ※ The schedule is subject to change depending on the evaluation process.
  • ※ Interviews will be conducted in Busan.
OBLIGATIONS OF SELECTED PRTOJECTS Premiere Right: The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) holds the right of first refusal for the world or international premiere of the completed film at BIFF in 2027 or in the year of completion. Should the world premiere take place at the Berlin International Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, or the Venice International Film Festival, the Asian premiere at BIFF shall be accepted in fulfillment of this requirement.

Use of Grant Funds: Even if the grant is disbursed in advance, the funds may not be drawn or spent until the project has officially commenced principal photography.

Reporting: Progress reports must be submitted at each stage of production.

Termination of Production: In the event that production is discontinued, the recipient must notify ACFM immediately and return the full grant amount within one month.

Post-Release Reporting: Recipients must submit records of international festival invitations, as well as territory-wise release and revenue reports.

Credit & Logo Requirements:
*The completed film must include the ACF opening title card in the opening sequence.
*The BIFF, ACFM, ACF, and sponsor logos must be featured in the end credits.
*The BIFF, ACFM, ACF, and sponsor logos must be included in all promotional materials.


Mandatory Attendance: A representative (the Korean producer) must attend the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) 2026 to receive the fund certificate.

SUBMISSION
Submitted documents will not be returned, and no revisions or resubmissions will be accepted after the deadline.
All notices and communications will be made via email; applicants must provide a valid and accurate email address.
Incomplete applications or ineligible applicants may be disqualified without prior notice. Each submitting production company may submit only one project per fund.
Please note that no individual feedback will be provided on the selection results or projects.
