2026 Guidelines

2025 Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund
SUBMISSION DATES 25 March – 20 April 2026, 23:59 (KST/GMT+9)
CATEGORIES Asian Project
  • - The director must hold Asian nationality (excluding Korean nationals).
  • - The project must feature Asian elements in its story, theme, characters, or setting.
Korean Project
  • - The director must hold Korean nationality.
ELIGIBILITY Feature-length documentary film projects aiming for theatrical release.
The director must hold Korean or Asian nationality.
Expected running time of the project must be 60 minutes or longer.
Projects may be in any stage of production (Development, Pre-production, Production, or Post-production).
BENEFITS A cash grant of up to 20 million KRW per project.
Official invitation for one representative of each selected project to the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), including a Market Badge, round-trip economy flight, and 4 nights of accommodation.
Selected projects may participate in the Documentary WIP Showcase (part of the ACFM’s Doc Square program) upon request, provided the project is over 60 minutes in length and will be completed (distribution-ready) between October 2026 and September 2027.
HOW TO APPLY Complete and submit the online application form.
The application period is from March 25, 10:00 to April 20, 23:59 (GMT+9).

REQUIRED MATERIALS Online Application Form
  • - Project Information (Title, Budget, Production Plan, etc.)
  • - Logline (Max. 300 characters including spaces)
  • - Synopsis (Max. 1,200 characters, including spaces)
  • - Director’s Statement of Intent (Max. 2,000 characters, including spaces)
  • - Director’s Profile (Max. 1,000 characters, including spaces)
  • - Director’s Filmography

Required Materials
  • - Project Proposal (Research materials, investigative content, editing script, etc.)
  • - Director’s Previous Work (Up to 2 films via online links / English subtitles are mandatory for non-English works / Trailers, music videos, or commercials are not acceptable)
  • - Demo Reel (Max. 20 min. / Online link / English subtitles are mandatory for non-English works)

Optional Materials
  • - Rough Cut (For projects in post-production or with completed filming / Online link)

※ The online application form and any additional documents must be in English.
※ Online links must remain accessible until the end of June 2026.
※ DVDs are not accepted.
※ All attachments must be in PDF format and may not exceed 5 MB per file.
SELECTION Total Selections: Around 7 projects
Selection results will be individually announced via email in mid-June 2026.
Funding will be provided after the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
OBLIGATIONS OF SELECTED PROJECTS Selected recipients must sign a Fund Agreement.
A representative of the selected project must attend documentary programs organized by the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM).
The completed film must include the ACF opening title card in the opening sequence and the BIFF, ACFM, and ACF logos in the end credits.
The BIFF, ACFM, and ACF logos must be included in all promotional materials.
Project achievements and updates must be shared regularly and may be used for promotional purposes
NOTES FOR SUBMISSION All notifications will be sent exclusively via email. Please ensure that the email addresses provided in the application form are correct.
Applicants may submit only one project per fund.
Resubmission of a project previously not selected is permitted only once, and only if there are significant changes. In such cases, a detailed explanation of the changes must be provided in the application form.
The online application system will close automatically after the deadline; only on-time submissions will be considered.
Incomplete applications, those that do not meet eligibility criteria, or those containing false information may be disqualified without prior notice.
Please note that no individual feedback will be provided on the selection results or projects.
